Webinar Description
The purpose of this webinar is to share expert clinical insight on identifying and treating pain and Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) among individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) within a Primary Care setting. The webinar will enhance the listeners understanding of how pain and OUD can present in patients with SMI and it will address challenges associated with treating these co-occurring disorders. This overview on best clinical practice measures will help facilitate optimal treatment of pain in a potentially vulnerable population. 


As a result of participating in this activity, the healthcare team will:
1. Examine the range of clinical presentations of acute and chronic pain among individuals with Serious Mental Illness
2. Implement appropriate clinical strategies for identification and treatment of Opioid Use Disorder among individuals with Serious Mental Illness
3. Evaluate risks and benefits of adjunctive medication approaches for pain with individuals receiving psychotropic medication for Serious Mental Illness
